Too Faced

You may remember me reviewing the Two Faced Original Chocolate Bar back in March. Since then Too Faced has come out with their Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar. It's similar, yet different. The selection of the original is more of the violets and rose colors, where this is geared towards warmer tones. Infused with the scent of sweet chocolate, this collection features 16 antioxidant-rich, cocoa powder-infused shadows in matte and shimmer shades with warm caramels, deep mochas, bronzy chocolate, and vibrant sugared blueberry hues. These rich, high-pigment shades are perfect for any season, and it includes a signature how-to Glamour Guide to help you get started with three eye looks. Retails for $49 and available on TooFaced.com, or at Sephora, Ulta and the like. Do yourself a favor though and get Shadow Insurance ~ your full-coverage insurance policy against all fading, creasing, melting, blurring, oil slicked, and hard-to-blend eye shadow accidents. Our silicone based eye shadow primer transforms any eyeshadow into a perfectly blendable, color-drenched, intensified version of itself, then locks it down perfectly until you take it off. This soothing formula evens out the skintone on your lids and smoothes lines while securing a barrier between the oils of your skin and your makeup, so no shadow catastrophes will ever happen again. Retails for $20 and it makes a BIG difference in how your eyeshadow looks and lasts. I NEVER apply eyeshadow without using this primer first.

Colors included are: Licorice, Nougat, Truffled, Hot Fudge, Cocoa Chili, Pink Sugar, Puddin', Blueberry Swirl, Peanut Butter, Frosting, Rum Raisin, Mousse, Caramel, Bon Bon,
Butter Pecan, & Coconut Crème.

Urban Decay

So many amazing Urban Decay goodies for the holidays! I utilized every deal from Sephora VIB to Urban Decay.com clearance and free shipping promos. I love Urban Decay. It's one of my all time favorite make up lines.

First and foremost the thing that got me hooked was the 24/7 eyeliner pencils. If you haven’t tried their 24/7 formula, prepare to get addicted. It glides on effortlessly, stays creamy for about 30 seconds so you can blend it, then dries down to a budge-proof finish. They are a cross between a gel and a kohl crayon but have a velvet like look/touch ( except for the glitter pencils ). They go on so smooth, last all day long, yet still wipe off with a lil eye make up remover and a cotton ball. I have my eye on another set too since I scored myself a $10 gift card from the UD hook up holiday promotion. They retail in price from $12-49 a set. Usually you can find a 3 pack of travel ( the size pictured below ) for $12-19. A full size pencil retails for $20.

Next was Naked On The Run. I had been eyeing the Naked Palettes for awhile now, and it just seemed like this was the perfect solution to get the biggest bang for my buck. The ultimate travel kit for Naked junkies, this palette comes loaded with EVERYTHING you need for a complete Naked look: six ALL-NEW shades of Eyeshadow). Bronzer. Blush. They even included a full-size Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss and a travel-size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil , plus a travel-size Perversion Mascara. The whole thing is packaged in a cute lil compact so you can take it with you wherever you go. It retails for $54 and it's worth every penny!

In one of the orders I received a sample of the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in 69. I was instantly hooked. I am NOT a huge lipstick fan, but this stuff was absolutely amazing. Their Pigment Infusion System™ gives Revolution Lipstick its super creamy texture, insane pigmentation, superior color dispersion and extended wear. Maxi-Lip™ defines and hydrates lips while making them look plumper and fuller. And a nourishing blend of jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter keeps lips super moisturized and cushiony soft.  The color selection is to die for too. I had no idea where to start, and then I saw the Full Frontal Lip Stash with all the minis, plus Ozone Clear Lip Liner ( glides on smoothly to prime and prevent feathering—for long-lasting lip color and clean lines. ) Retailing for $39, I really felt like this was a steal.
So there you have it, a bunch of Urban Decay which are great introductions to the line. You can find it online at UrbanDecay.com, Sephora, Ulta, & Macy's. Higher priced than it's drug store counterparts, but the quality is like no other. I get so many compliments when I'm wearing Urban Decay Cosmetics. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Generics Up & Up Target Brand

So this month with it being the holiday season my budget is much tighter than normal. Target had a huge sale on their Up & Up brands, with Cartwheel 10% off, gift card inticements, ect. So I thought why not give it a shot? So I chose things that I have tried in the past that gave me favorable results, but again this time in the Up & Up brand.

First up Renewal Cleanser which is comparable to Olay Regenerist Cream Cleanser. This honestly is almost identical. I couldn't tell the difference at all. It has the micro beads to help scrub and resurface the skin. UP is $4.19 compared to Olay which is $6.99.

Secondly is Deep Pore Cleansing Strips which are comparable to Biore Pore Strips. I can't say I am a fan. These didn't have as much sticking power as the Biore does, so in return not as much gunk comes out of your pores. UP is $6.09 for 14 compared to Biore which is $8.49.

Third is Maximum Strength Acne Treatment with benzoyl peroxide which is comparable to Clean & Clear Persagel. I like this even more than C&C. The scent is way better, and the effects are overnight. I dab this on any lil blemish I have, and by morning it's gone. GONE! UP is $3.79 while C&C is $6.99.

Fourth is Eye Make Up Remover Liquid which is comparable to Neutrogena's Oil Free Eye Make Up Remover. I love this. Again they are pretty identical. The only  real difference is the scent, and they both have pleasing clean scents. Neither are oily, and they both are effective in removing mascara completely without damaging my eyelashes. The price difference is HUGE! This will forever keep me using this one. UP is $2.49 while Neutrogena is $6.99.

Fifth & sixth are the Daily Morning & Evening Moisturizing Treatments compared to Olay Regenerist versions of the same.  The day serum is formulated to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, even out skin tones, leaving skin feeling firm and soft with a fresh glow. The formula leaves skin feeling velvety smooth. . UP Daytime Moisturizing Serum is $13.99 while Olay is $19.99. The night cream is intense moisture to help with cell renewal, wrinkle reduction, and firming skin. The Up Night Cream is $15.99 while Olay is $19.99. Once again not too much of a difference other than scent. I've been using these since November, and I keep receiving compliments on my skin.

I've been really happy with these generic purchases. Normally I'm a brand snob, so maybe it's just that I like the brand Up & Up. The savings difference total was $27.09 cheaper and that's BEFORE any discounts,  giftcards, ect.!  $42.35 vs $69.44. I ended up paying $28.xx for all that stuff ( 10% off, plus for every 3 items you bought you earned a $5 gc ). I will purchase this again, and be willing to try other Up & Up products too.

Clariol Hair Food

I was walking through Target and the display  for Clariol Hair Food caught my eye. I had never seen this product line before. There are three varieties. Moisture, Volume & Clarifying. Each line contains a shampoo, conditioner, and treatment. Each product retails for about $9.99. Based on my hair's needs I chose the moisturizing line. First off the smell is incredible. I'm a big one on scent so if I don't like it, even if it works fantastic, I won't use it. This is apricot & honey. The shampoo has a big lather, and my hair  feels like silk after the conditioner. All products are silicone, paraben & mineral oil free. Just a little background on why you don't want those ingredients. Silicone & mineral oil coat the hair shaft and actually makes it impossible for true moisture & proteins  to penetrate. At first your hair will look and feel silky, but over time it will feel dry and coated.  Parabens are chemical compounds to preserve products. They have also been linked to cancer. I try to avoid them in ALL my products. I only wish it was also sulfate free because that would be the ultimate! However this did NOT strip my color either, so that's a big deal.  I definitely give this product a high rating! I'm looking forward to trying the other lines within it. I love that it comes in a big bottle, and has it's own pump. This makes using it in the shower so much easier too. Both bottles have lasted for my family of 4 for a little over a month, almost 2.

Rimmel

I found a coupon in the paper for $1 off any Rimmel product, and they were on sale for buy one get one 50% off so I thought why not give it a shot. If I don't like it, I have a teen who loves make up herself. I chose Rimmel Stay Matte Primer, & Matte BB Cream. My make up always starts out flawless, but after a couple hours of work it tends to look shiny, and sometimes even slide right off. This is not the case with this duo. It doesn't go on as smoothly as I am accustomed to. This might be the matte properties. It's nothing using a little oil free moisturizer immediately before can't cure. The primer is just that. Preps the area for the next step. This definitely took away any and all shine. I would NEVER use this alone like I do some other primers. It's white, but turns clear as you rub it in. Over all I think this product is just okay. For the price $6 retail, it gets the job done. The BB Cream I am definitely more impressed with. I first and foremost love that it contains sunscreen. That's a must! It glides on with a lot more ease than the primer. I tried it without the primer, and I do believe they work more effectively as a duo, but I wasn't unhappy. The coverage is just more buildable with both. It comes in 3 shades~ light, medium and dark. This retails for $5 ( or if you catch it on sale with coupons like I did nearly free! ). Below is my finished look with Rimmel. Everything (powder, lipgloss, mascara )  is from them EXCEPT my eyeshadow/brows ( that's Too Faced Chocolate Bar ).

Secret Outlast Gel Deodorant

I had the opportunity to test this out as a bzzagent. I can not say enough good things about it. As some of you know I work out daily. Sometimes just quick cardio and other times down and dirty with the weights. This has been the ONLY deodorant that hasn't let me down. I am not a huge stinky, wet mess afterward ( at least not in my armpits ). It's also nice that it's a clear gel ( something I personally never used prior... I always chose solids or aerosol ) because it doesn't leave ANY white residue on your clothing. I always thought it would go on and stay on wet and gummy and it doesn't! Another huge plus for me is that I tend to easily break out with my sensitive skin, and this didn't irritate me at all. It comes in a variety of great scents too. Retails for $5.29 and available at most mass retailers.

Sleep Spa Renew Face Mask

http://www.myrenewyou.co.uk/
Sleep Spa Face Mask by Montagne Jeunesse is  a ten minute bedtime routine- our Fruit Enzyme Sleep Spa smoothes and breaks down dead skin cells with enzymatic peeling agent Bromelain - derived from Pineapple stem and Papaya extracts.  You will wash your face as you normally do. Place the mask over your face and pat it down. It's going to be wet and slightly sticky. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Take it off and toss it in the trash. Rub in remaining product that was left on face. Wake up with glistening skin. It really does slough off all dead skin cells leaving your face renewed. Retails for $14.99 for 4 count. Available at stores like Ulta. Also comes in another formula: Pure Oil Hydrating Sleep Spa. Definitely worth checking out. Your skin will thank you!

Fat Hair

I truly believe that Fat Hair Advanced Repair Formula is responsible for saving my hair from the daily blow drying I do, while allowing me to have beautiful, volumized hair. Fat Hair’s new Advanced Repair Formula products now combine hair repair and damage protection, with your everyday hair care routine. These exclusive, amplifying formulas contain a blend of protein, botanical extract, Inositol, Taurine, Avocado and Olive oil to volumize and repair limp damaged hair for fuller, shinier, healthier looking hair. It does exactly what it promises. I am using the crème, but they offer a blow dry spray, root lifter. amplifying mist, mousse, hairspray, shampoo & conditioner, and leave in conditioning treatment. I got mine free as part of a trial from their website. The products are available on the same website http://www.fat-hair.com/index or at stores like Walmart & Walgreens. They retail for $6.99-11.99.

Covergirl Ready Set Goregeous

I wanted something that had a bit more coverage than a bb cream, but wasn't a full on coverage. That's exactly what this does. Now it says it's a foundation, and it is, but it's a really light smooth one. Blends really easily, doesn't feel heavy nor sticky. It's oil free, and has some shine control capabilities. It won't clog your pores either. Lasts all day. Washes off nicely with regular cleaning.  Comes in a wide variety of shades. The powder is a great addition afterwards to set it in place. It comes with a breathable sponge applicator. They also make a concealer stick, but they were out of the color I would need when I picked these up. I do have every intention on getting it though. Each retails for $6.99 and available at all mass merchandising stores ( Target & the like ). #instaglam #covergirl #readysetgorgeous

Younique Moonstruck Eyelash Fiber Mascara

For months I've seen people talking about Younique moodstruck fiber lashes. I have naturally long lashes, but they are NOT full. In fact they are actually kinda sparse. So my friend  convinced my to try it out. I wanted to see what it could do for me. The directions say to apply your favorite mascara, then build up with transplanting gel and fiber. I didn't do that though in the first set of pictures.  This is ONLY Younique. I wanted to get a feel for what is like. It's also only a single coat of transplanting gel, then fiber, then sealed with gel. My base lash line looks amazing. My lashes touch my eyebrow. I am sold. The last photo is in combination with mascara. I think it only intensified the look and further amplified my lashes. Some questions I have already been asked: These are not fake lashes. This is applied just like mascara. The fibers do flake a little bit, but just in the beginning application and I think it's from the wand, not from the lash. I didn't get any in my eyes. I wear contacts and it doesn't bother me. It washes off with plain face wash, nothing different is needed. You can make them as subtle or dramatic as you want since you can layer the product for the desired effect. The cost is $29 for the set. Worth every penny. Thanks again Tammy for convincing me. Please guys check it out, and contact her to buy your set.

No Pur Filter, No Stars!

Meet Arthur Tweedie! He's the face of Pur water filtration. No PUR Filter, NO STARS!  I'm totally considering buying one of these vs continually purchasing bottled water. They say the savings is nearly $675 annually. #WaterCritic #contest

Not Your Mother's

Normally I am not a huge fan of drug store products. As the title of the blog states, I'm a big product snob. Being a licensed professional, I tend to gravitate towards salon brands. However, I received samples of Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing shampoo & conditioner from Influenster's #surfsupvoxbox
So with some skepticism I used it in my morning routine. I figured I would go for the messy hair look. I shampooed, and I was surprised at how much lather there was for a sulfate free shampoo. Pleasantly surprised. The scent was nice too. The conditioner was moisturizing, but not anything that would weigh one's hair down. Everything detangled nicely. I used a little bit of a gel that I had on hand, and let it air dry. I had that nice beachy wave look. Now in part that's because I have naturally curly hair, but in other part the foundation of cleansing and conditioning is key. I only wish they would have included some samples of the styling cream at least so you could get the full feel for the entire line.
This can be found at any mass retailer, or even your supermarket. Retails for $5.99 per 8oz bottle. There are tons of styling aids to go with this too. Beach cream, texturizing sea salt spray, plus other products all together for other hair types. #NYMBeachBabe

The Pink Panel

I joined Pink Panel as a product tester. This is my first product to test. I received a tinted moisturizer with spf 30. It's a lot like the bb creams I've used in the past. Only, I've been receiving so many compliments on my skin since using it. I'm only day 10 of the trial, and I'm jonesing to know exactly who is the manufacture for when I run out. I'm in love! It also has the absolute best scent. It's intoxicating. Slightly like an oatmeal scent, but there is something else to it that I can't put my finger on. It is a medium coverage, and just gives me such a healthy glow.  When I find out WHO makes this, I'll be shouting it  from the rooftops! All the information I have about it is that it was developed by a biotechnology lab in San Francisco focused on microalgae as a renewable energy source. This powerful compound is supposed to give significant anti aging properties to the skin by increasing elastin synthesis by up to 32%, and cellular regeneration by 55%. In return you get natural, youthful, radiant looking skin with reduced fine lines, and wrinkles, more elasticity, suppleness, and refined texture. Who wouldn't want that?

Sinful Colors Professional Nail Polish

I got this shade: Anchors Away 1197 from Influenster as part of their #SurfsUpVoxBox. To be real honest at first I didn't care for the color as I was unpacking the box. I felt it reminded me of the powdered cheese from a box of macaroni. However once I started painting my nails with it, I was totally impressed. The color seemed to  grow on me the more compliments I got about my manicure. The orange definitely was a bold, vibrant, attention grabbing color. When I shared with everyone the ease of using this ( base color, 2 coats color, top coat ) and how Sinful Colors Professional is one of the only formulas that DO NOT use formaldehyde, toluene nor DBP everyone was impressed. Add in that their are a company that DOES NOT test on animals and most everyone was hooked. Not to mention it only retails for $1.99 per bottle. Beautiful, healthy and affordable. Yes please! #SinfulColors

Surfs Up Vox Box

I love being a Influenster and getting different vox boxes to try. This one is #surfsupvoxbox This has some really fantastic beachy items that make for a great start to summer.

Jamba Juice Smoothie Kits. Retail for $2.99. I love that you just add juice and blend. The one I chose is Red Fusion which has fruits and veggies. They are dairy free, which considering I'm intolerant it's a good thing. It suggests you mix it with apple juice, but I mixed mine with coconut water. Less calories, and still an amazing taste! #jambajuice

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration After Sun. Retails for $2.99 for 2oz bottle. $8.99 for 8oz bottle. This is the only brand that combines ribbons of gel and lotion to leave your skin feeling refreshed and rehydrated. It has a light weight feel, great soothing aloe, and light summery coconut papaya fragrance. Feels so good going on that you may even want to just use this as a body moisturizer year round sun or not! #escapewithHT

First Aid Shot Therapy. Retails for $2.99 This is a liquid pain relief shot. For those, like me, who hate swallowing pills. It provides fast relief. I took it for my migraine, and poof! Having some issues locating more of these in store, but looking forward to finding them! #FASTRelief

Sinful Colors Professional Nail Polish. Retails for $1.99. I absolutely love this brand. Inexpensive. Wide variety of fun colors and textures. It's a professional formula that is formaldehyde, toluene and DBP free. It's also NEVER tested on animals. I'll probably make a separate posting about these since I really enjoy Sinful! #SinfulColors

Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Shampoo & Conditioner. Retails $3 for travel sizes, $6 for full size. This smells like a day at the beach with fun and sun. The flirty scent is infused with coconut oil and sea kelp extract. It helps give that day at the beach texturized look. I've used their sea salt spray before, and  I have to tell you for a drug store product I'm impressed. Random texture, wave enhancement... think mermaid hair. Love it! #NYMBeachBabe

Mary Kay Clear Proof

I know it has been awhile since I last blogged about any products. I've still been trying lots of products, but summer keeps me busy and I haven't had much time to blog.

I signed up on HouseParty.com to be a chatterbox for Mary Kay's Clear Proof line. Not for myself, but for my 13 year old daughter. She is just now becoming very self conscious of her skin and the break outs she's experiencing. I'd love for her to find something that works for her skin, and this could be it! I was thrilled when we got selected to try this for FREE!

When it arrived to the house, we ripped right into it. She's excited about the system. I'm hoping we found something that works for her. It retails for $45. I'll keep you posted. The literature boasts 30 days till healthier skin. We shall see.  #ClearProofPack

Müller Fruit Up Yogurt Cup

I am in LOVE with this new Quaker Müller Fruit Up yogurt. It has a great taste and texture. The low fat yogurt on the bottom has a mousse like texture. Very light, very airy. The fruit on the top is also not some gelatinous mess. It's like a pureed real fruit. Mix them together for a great taste. It comes in multiple varieties, but the peach passion fruit is my absolute favorite.  I love that it's a quick easy snack. I tend to grab this after a work out.  It is only 140 calories, 1.5 grams of fat, 26 grams of carbohydrates, & 7 grams of protein.  It can be found at most grocery chains, and retails for $1.29.

Viva La Juicy

So I'm a big fan of the Viva La Juicy lines from Juicy Couture. Don't worry. I won't be running out to get yoga pants with the words "juicy" slapped across my ass. I'll keep it limited to the perfumes. I already owned Viva La Juicy ( notes are wild berries, mandarins, honeysuckle, gardenia, jasmine, amber, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood, and praline ). Now I picked up two more. Viva La Juicy Noir & Viva La Juicy La Fleur for free thanks to the Sephora Scent Certificates.

Viva La Juicy Noir is succulent ripe berry, honeysuckle, and sandalwood but on a much bolder scale. It's definitely more of an evening wear as the name suggests. Retails for $72 for the  1.7oz size.

Viva La Juicy La Fleur is wild berries, mandarin, honeysuckle, gardenia petals, soft jasmine, vanilla, caramel, and sandalwood.  It's very reminiscent of the original, but on a much softer slightly more floral scale. It's really light and sheer. If romance actually had a smell to it, this would be it. Retails for $72 for 2.5oz size.

The only thing I wish is that both scents had a bit more lasting power. I refuse to spend $80 on the matching body wash & lotion to layer scents. I would say the fragrance lasts about 4 hours before I feel the need to reapply. The good news is a little goes a long way with these.

Olay Fresh Effects

Olay Fresh Effects  Out of This Swirled Deep Pore Clean + Exfoliating Scrub is simply amazing. It lathers, which is a must for me. I know that's likely psychological, but I don't feel really clean unless I feel the suds. This also is an exfoliating scrub so you can feel the little micro-bead granules inside at the same time.  Oil free so it won't clog my pores. Removes all my make up.  I chose the White Grapefruit and Green Tea variety, but there are also two more: Honeysuckle and White Tea, & Green Apple and Jasmine Tea. This one has a nice citrus scent to it. Retails $6.99

Olay Fresh Effects Dew Over Hydrating Gel Moisturizer is another favorite. It has a nice clean scent almost like cucumbers. It's an oil free moisturizer that absorbs quickly. I feel like I have radiantly  glowing skin after just a weeks worth of use. Retails $12.99

It's composed of silicon carbide crystals to gently slough even the toughest callused feet in the least amount of time. You can use it wet or dry depending on your comfort level. I can't wait to use these and be pedicure ready for the summer.
ProFoot Triad Orthotics. Retails $10.49. Three zone everyday orthotic clinically proven to relieve knee, legs, and back pain. It stops at 3/4 length just under the toes. Perfect for those of us who have larger feet too ( I wear a size 11 ). This was the first one I opened, and I'm so thankful I did! These are absolutely amazing and my  favorite part of the voxbox so far!
#GoPROFOOT

Aqua Spa Relaxation Body Crème. Retails $9.99. They also make a relaxing bath soak. This collection gives you a hydrating spa like beauty boost without leaving the comfort of your home. The smell is amazing. It's lavender chamomile and it smells divine. It goes on super smooth, and it's too oily/greasy. Absorbs well, and leaves the skin refreshed and relaxed. Perfect for sore muscles after a good work out.
#RelaxWithAquaSpa

Mueller Greek Yogurt. Retail $1.29 There are several different varieties of this yogurt. All boast that they have a deliciously silky smooth texture, with playful mix ins. Like a parfait, only much healthier for you. I love greek yogurt, so I am definitely looking forward to trying these.
#mullerquaker

Blue Diamond Fruit Flavored Almonds. Retails $3.19 for 4oz bag. Loaded with antioxidants and vitamin E, these  fruit flavored almonds combine the delicious crunch with the sweetness of flavors like strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. I was lucky to sample the blueberry version. It was amazing. Reminded me of those sugar roasted almonds, but so much healthier for you. A quick pick me up packed with protein. I can't wait to find these in store.
#GetYourGoodGoing

Vitamin Shoppe Next Step Fit N Full Shake Mix Packets. Retails $24.99 for 14. I received three varieties. Swiss Chocolate, French Vanilla, & Fresh Berries. All of them are to be mixed with 8oz of water. I couldn't do the water though, so I used 8oz of almond milk. It increased the calorie intake by only 35. Since this only contains 140 calories per serving to begin with I felt it wasn't too bad. It provides 14g of protein, & 5g of fiber. It also is a great source of CLA to help reduce body fat and increase lean body mass. They recommend 2 shakes daily for maximum benefit, but I honestly could only see myself using one a day. For those with allergies it does contain milk, soy and wheat. The taste is pretty good compared to other protein shakes I've tried.
#nextstepshake

Jaxx Next Step Shaker Cup. Retails $7.99. BPA free. Holds 20oz. Has mixing technology to completely stir and dissolve all types of powders. Great for on the go. The lil jax in there really gets things going for smooth mixing. It has an easy flip top locking cap and a travel strap.

Benefit Samples

I got a sample of Benefit's Big Easy & Porefessional Agent Zero Shine to try out. I have sampled a couple of their other products and was  very pleased. I can't wait to try these tomorrow and see if they live up to the brand image.

Big Easy is a liquid to powder foundation with spf 35.  It contains ingredients known to help balance moisture and control oil, while the cushiony liquid-to-powder formula melts in like a cream, yet finishes lightweight and velvety like a powder. This multi balancing complexion perfector self-adjusts to your exact shade to even out skin tone and conceal imperfections. It also contains ingredients known to soothe and comfort the skin and help fight free radicals. This product is non-comedogenic and oil-free and phthalate-free. Comes in 6 shade selections from fair to dark. Retails for $38.

Porefessional Agent Zero Shine is a powder that minimizes pores and reduces shine. Get smooth, fresh-faced skin with this shine-control powder that instantly mattifies the complexion. The built-in brush applicator makes this the ideal purse companion for touch-ups on the go. It's colorless so all skin tones can use it. Retails for $30.

The first picture is me with Porefessional Primer & The Big Easy on only. The second photo is with everything pictured, plus eyeshadow, mascara, brow powder & lipgloss of varying brands.
I'm still undecided if I like The Big Easy. It's a little more chalky than I'm used to. I think this is the powdery finish it boasts of. I really do like the Porefessional Agent Zero Powder though. This will be something I pick up soon. My skin looks great, but still. Hours later it's still on, and shine free so it at least does what it promises.

Sephora Sampler

I bought yet another Sephora Fragrance Sampler. This time it contains:

-  Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline
-  CLEAN Rain
-  Gucci Guilty Black
- Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Noir
-  Marc Jacobs Honey
-  MARCHESA PARFUM D'EXTASE
- Narciso Rodriguez for her
-  Prada Candy
-  Ralph Lauren Romance
-  STELLA MCCARTNEY Stella
- Bonus Item: 8 1/4" W x 1/4" D x 5 1/2" H Beauty Pouch
- Scent certificate for free 1oz full size bottle

So far I can tell you I do NOT like Narciso Rodriguez for her. It's way too musky of a floral ( rose undertones ). My favorite has been Prada Candy ( caramelized vanilla ) but Viva La Juicy Noir is a close second, and what I may end up redeeming ( sandalwood & berries ).  I did get a lot of compliments on Marchesa ( light feminine floral freesia/jasmine/ect ) but it didn't last at all on me. After a couple hours I couldn't smell it at all. I prefer some staying power.

This set retails for $55 but it's a value of up to $115 with the certificate. I absolutely love the try it before you buy it idea. The bonus beauty pouch is great too. It's large enough to toss all my make up in and take with me. If you buy before Mother's Day ( May 11th ) you get triple rewards points for your purchase too!

got2be Take Two!

I decided to Schwartzkopf got2be rise n shine body + gloss line because the beach waves were just not in the cards for me. I picked up the whipped mousse plus the luminous hairspray. So far I really like this. It allow me to straighten my curly hair and make it smooth & shiny, but still have tons of bounce and volume. The scent is light, not too over powering. Slightly a powdery scent. The mousse is probably my favorite part. It's super hydrating foam. It's almost like a cream, though they do make a cream too ( but it felt a little heavy when I tried it at the store ). The hairspray is nice that it doesn't flake, and you can still have a brushable hold. I've used it to curl my hair with even, and that's nice too. Nothing stiff nor crunchy. Just beautifully soft, shiny hair. Retails for $7.99 each. Available at most retailers.

Schwarzkopf got2b

I have the pleasure of testing Schwarzkopf got2b Oil-licious shampoo & conditioner plus the Beach Trippin waving spray. I can't wait to see if this actually makes me want to keep my curls vs pulling out my  flat iron. Worst case scenario is I hate it, use my flat iron anyway, and my oldest daughter gains a new product line for her gorgeous curly hair.
The Oil-licious line boasts that thanks to triple oils of argan, white grape seed and marula, you’ll feel 100% transformed when your hair is left with glossy shine. The shampoo's micro-emulsion technology leaves hair with incredibly touchable smoothness with no overburdening even finer hair types. The conditioner detangles unruly locks while absorbing easily, leaving hair with a non-greasy texture. Shine is improved by 100%, and hair is strengthened, nourished and repaired. Retails for $5.99 per bottle. Sold at most retailers.
The Beach Trippin spray boasts that through natural salts it will infuse a deliciously rough texture and piecey waves. Formulated with moisturizing ingredients so there’s no crunch! Retails for $5.99 per bottle. Sold at most retailers.
All three products smell like a day at the beach with suntan oils. I'm kinda wanting to sport some mermaid~esque hair this summer. Be on the look out for an updated review.

Update:
Washed and conditioned my hair today with the products and loved em. Attempted to scrunch my hair with the spray. Now I'm not sure if it's the spray, or my current hair cut but no. I looked like an afro poodle. Wasn't attractive. Gave the stuff to my daughter. She has super long ( nearly waist length ) curly blonde hair. She loved it. It made her have soft, touchable waves.  I won't be using this product again though. Going to check out their smoothing/blow out line.

Stila BB Creams

Today I just happened to pop into Ulta and this was their beauty steal for the day.  For $12 you get to try each variety in this awesome 3 pack.  It's always available for purchase though it's normally $24. If you end up loving these the full size retails for $38.

Whether you're looking for BB benefits with the additional of SPF 30 sunscreen, BB SPF 30 with a hint of tint or a BB SPF 30 that illuminates, Stila's try-me-trio enables you to try all three formulas and find your perfect BB. I can't wait to try these. I used the sample at the store, but that was just on my hand. I want to try these as soon as possible! It boasts that it helps reduce pore size and provides oil and blemish control while reducing redness and skin irritation. Add in the high SPF and it's got all the points I look for in my beauty balms.

* Update. As of 4/7/14 I have used 2 of the 3 varieties ( saving the bronzing one for the better weather ). I am IN LOVE with the regular bb cream ( the white bottle ). It's thicker than most bb creams, almost like a foundation. The coverage is amazing. It's water proof, so I find I have to really scrub it off my face, but it hasn't clogged my pores so that's a plus!

My Fitness Pal

Recently a couple more people have asked me what they thought had attributed to my weight loss. Of course it's hard work and dedication, but the tools I used and continue to use are instrumental to my success. My Fitness Pal is a site that holds me accountable for my calories consumed and  burned. You fill out their questionnaire with your current height, weight, activity level, goal weight, ect. It will give you a suggested amount of calories to consume daily. You will be able to "earn" more calories by exercise.  Or you can do what I ended up doing and follow the TDEE ( total daily energy expended ) method and eat up to a 30% cut from that. I've had success with both methods.

I'm currently sitting at 515 days since I began using this tool. It was eye opening about portion sizes. I had no idea just how much I was over eating until learning through here. There are message boards you can visit for more help. You can add friends for support along your journey. The site syncs up with various things like Fit Bit, Run Keeper, Endomondo, ect. You can use it on your computer or as an app for your cellphone. You can either manually add your  food choices ( some are pre loaded because multiple people have shared the nutritional values ) or you can scan them in by using the barcodes on the boxes.

I recently redid my ticker, and this is what I'm sitting at for a loss. I originally had lost 80lbs, and I'm smaller than I ever have been before at a size 8/10. I know muscle and fat weigh the same ( because a pound is a pound ), but I think I've replaced fat with muscle so since muscle takes up less space, I can have more of it... meaning I will weigh more. I'm okay with that too. I never was a big one to focus on the scale. In fact I only weigh in once a month. I'm more of the go by how I look and feel. And of course the compliments don't hurt either.

I tell everyone about it. Of course it's only going to work for you if you utilize it properly, but it's a huge help!

Ulta Super Shiny Lip Gloss Wands

I'm not a huge fan of lip color. I tend to really do up my eyes, and play down my lips. However I am a huge fan of having something on them, whether it be chap stick or lip gloss. Ulta Super Shiny Lip Gloss is perfect for that. You can layer it so you can either have a hint of color, or really pack a punch ( or would that be lip smack? ). They have a high gloss sheen too without being sticky. They retail for $8 but usually are ALWAYS one sale for BOGO.  They also usually include one or two  of these in their kits that they put out around the holidays. The ones pictured above from top to bottom are:  Cosmo, Princess, Natural, & Flirtini.

Fruit Of The Earth Aloe Vera

I recently was turned onto drinking aloe vera. I picked up at Meijer 2 bottles of  Fruit Of The Earth Aloe Vera. One in the wild berry flavor, and one in original unflavored. Both are made from whole leaf organically grown aloe. They contain no sugars or starches or added thickening agents. This brand comes in multiple sizes. The one pictured above is 32oz and it was a little over $4.  I usually buy the huge gallons for $8.

What I do is mix 8oz of aloe vera juice with 8oz of regular juice. I've been playing with different flavors from orange juice to blueberry/cranberry/pomegranate and even lemonade. I usually try for ones that don't have any ADDED sugar, since most of these juices contain enough natural sugar to begin with. Pour the total 16oz over ice, and sip away. It actually tastes great!

Now why am I drinking this? Well let me tell you! The consumption of aloe vera juice helps encourage muscle and joint functions by inhibiting inflammation without side effects.  Aloe Vera Juice has natural, detoxifying abilities. Drinking aloe vera juice regularly improves bowel regularity and increase protein absorption, while at the same time decrease unfriendly bacteria and yeast. Aloe vera juice has also demonstrated its ability to assist in soothing heartburn and other types of digestive upset.  It also provides natural support for the immune system by including includes vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C and E, Folic Acid and Niacin and minerals  calcium, sodium, iron, potassium, chromium, magnesium, manganese,  copper, and zinc as well as collagen & elastin which help replenish your body's essential amino acids naturally. It also helps maintain healthy dental hygiene. However, the best part in my honest opinion, is that it regulates weight and energy levels. I use this and apple  cider  vinegar ( not together but separately ). AVJ definitely tastes better than ACV and their benefits are similar. Recently I injured myself and the only thing I can think of to explain how I made such a quick recovery is that I have been trying to be as healthy as can be with my nutrition, supplements, and fitness.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes

I got this as a reward for my participation in the Influenster voxbox challenge. Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Retro Glam mascara in jet black.  I have to say for a drug store mascara I am kind of impressed. The brush itself is the most amazing part. The bristles are thick and fibrous, not that stupid rubber plastic. They have a thin end, and a thick end with the center curved. It allows you to do different things with the wand for different looks. Also since the bristles are nice and tight it evenly coats each lash giving you the most volume. It also doesn't flake, clump, or cause me raccoon eyes so once again that's a plus for them. You can find this at any mass retailer for about $5.99.

Smashbox BB Cream

I figured it was time to review another one of the bb creams I have been using from that sampler kit. This one is Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream. Retail value $39. However I HIGHLY suggest you get to know their products in general and the best way to do that is buy their TRY IT kit. For $29 you can get sample sizes of their most popular face items: Camera Ready BB Cream, Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder, Photo Finish Foundation Primer & a Baby Buki Brush. I already had the full sizes of most of these products previously, so I used ALL the items descripted above. The kit comes in 4 color varieties. The bb cream itself comes in 10 color varieties. I wear light neutral. You will use the foundation primer first ( it's a clear gel ), then apply the bb cream. Dust halo over your face with the buki brush. Then you can move onto your other make up. One of my favorite aspects of this particular brand is that it contains a high level of spf protection ( 35 ). It's also one of the only brands on the market that helps with oil control. On account of this it will feel drier than other brands, which is why you MUST use a primer beforehand.

*On a side note the lipstick I'm pictured wearing is from my Sephora birthday gift from Make Up Forever. I love that it's just a pretty pinkish neutral shade.

Clean & Clear

I just picked up the new Clean & Clear Morning Burst hydrating cleanser & gel moisturizer at Target this weekend. Retails $5.99 each. It has a nice clean scent. Smells like cucumbers. The cleanser has a rich lather and bursting micro beads to help stimulate the face. It completely removed my make up without over drying my face. My experience wasn't that of their commercials but then again my bathroom wasn't flooded with the face splashing nonsense they show. I was thoroughly impressed though.  The gel moisturizer is my favorite part. Light, and oil free. I really felt pampered applying it, even though it's inexpensive price tag.  Through out the day my face didn't get oily, and my make up didn't feel greasy going over my moisturizer.  This is definitely something that's staying in my daily regimen.

My Goodies

I've mentioned in other posts how I absolutely LOVE Sephora's Favorites collections especially when it comes to perfumes. Generally for $25-85 you can purchase kits with trial sizes and a scent certificate for a free full sized product of your choosing from the samples provided. This time I purchased the Rollerball Collection back around October 2013. Out of all those scents ( many which I love ) I decided on Viva La Juicy as my redemption. Viva la Juicy combines delicious wild berries with creamy caramelized vanilla and bright jasmine.  Normally the 1.7oz  retails for $72 but as I stated I had the free scent certificate. This is the only way I usually ever buy perfumes. Other stores have even begun doing similar promotions.

If you join Sephora's Beauty Insider club you get a free gift for your birthday ( and you really should join regardless because the more you spend the more you earn ). This year it's Make Up Forever's mini lipstick & mascara duo. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Both products have received rave reviews ( 4.25 stars ). The mascara is supposed to curl your lashes for you. Full size retails for $24. The color selection for the lipstick is natural n9 ( a pretty coppery pink ). Full size retails for $20. Make Up Forever is sold exclusively at Sephora.

Lastly I got a coupon for a free, no purchase necessary, Bath & Body Works anti bacterial pocketbac. I chose the Lucky Love scent. It smells like raspberry lemonade.  I keep these lil pocket hand sanitizers EVERYWHERE. Purse, car, house, my work station,  ect. My kids even have them attached to their backpacks. We tend to be germaphobes. I love the array of scents available. Retails $1.75 but you can usually pick them up 5 for $5.

Maybelline Baby Skin

Normally I am not a huge fan of drug store make up. I tend to like the prestige brands. However Maybelline has always been an exception. I'm pretty happy with everything I've tried from them with the exception of their mascara. I know other people rave over Great Lash and the magazines boast how it's up there with the more expensive brands but no. It's total crap. HATE GREAT LASH!!!! Horrible brush, horrible flaking clumpy mess that gives you raccoon eyes. But this isn't about that. Like I said I am thrilled with their other products.  Over the years I've used their Dream collection, Expert Wear Eyes, Shine Free collection, Baby Lips, ect. This is another one of those products to add to your collection. Baby Skin instant pore eraser. This is such a nice face primer. It goes on smooth in the form of a clear gel but dries to a nice velvet touch. You can wear it alone ( like my oldest daughter does ) or underneath your make up ( like I do ). I use a dab of this, and a dab of bb cream, dust with a loose powder and call it a day. I look like I have flawless skin. My very large pores are visibly reduced. The best part is it's available almost everywhere, and only costs $6.99.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar

I picked up Too Faced Chocolate Bar eye shadow palette at Sephora yesterday ( thank god for gift cards! ). I am so excited to try this. First and foremost my FAVORITE eye shadow primer ( Shadow Insurance in Candlelight retail $20 ) is this brand, and so is my second favorite mascara ( Better Than Sex is the name retail $23). This palette contains a sweetly tempting array of 16 matte and shimmer shadows scented with real chocolate cocoa powder. I love that the shade selection is geared towards my eye color ( green ). With the neutrals and the violets it's like this palette was created just for me!  This is a first-of-its-kind palette that combines the healing benefits of chocolate with richly pigmented, velvety smooth shadows. Chocolate has been used for centuries for its soothing properties and to protect, condition, and heal skin that has been damaged by sun and wind. Studies have shown that the scent of cocoa powder can increase memory and brain power. As always Too Faced does not use  parabens, sulfates, nor phthalates in their products. Do yourself a favor and pick this up asap. Retails for $49.

Bath & Body Works Candles

I love when Bath & Body Works put their mini candles on sale 3 for $10. Add in the 20% off coupons, and the free product when you spend $10 and it's a total steal! This time I got the three pictured to the right. Raspberry Peach Macaroon. Watermelon Lemonade. Cinnamon Sugared Doughnut. They smell exactly like they describe. I had honestly totally forgot I had bought some around fall and rediscovered those too. They are pictured to the left. Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, Pumpkin Cupcake & Fireside Marshmallow. As you can tell I tend to go for the foodie scents.  I also LOVE their Scentportables for my car. Same scents, and only $3.50 each, but they usually always have buy 4 get 2 free and you can stack your coupons with these as well.  I REALLY wish they would hurry up and make wax melts in these scents. Then it would all be complete.

Tone Body Wash

I received this new Tone body wash to try thanks to bzzagent.  The scent is Petal Soft which is a light floral of pink peonies mixed with rose oil. I can not tell you how much I'm in love with this body wash. I have even been using it in the hand soap dispenser. My skin feels soft, well hydrated, and looks radiant. The lather is rich and luxurious.  Tone makes eight different  varieties of body wash, all with different spa like qualities from moisturizing to detoxifying to peeling to soothing and more.  They contain ingredients like cocoa & shea butters, vitamin e,  white clay, and alpha-hydroxy fruit acids to name a few that help keep your skin moisturized and nourished each and every day. The scents are great to chose from, and not too over powering. Just a subtle hint left on the skin. They also make foaming hand soaps and bath bars. Retails for $4.99 per bottle, and is available at most retailers. Do yourself a favor and pick up a bottle so you can you can feel properly pampered each and every time you take a shower or bath.

Tarte Mascara

Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes mascara. I'm in LOVE! This mascara is absolutely amazing as you can tell from the picture. Not only does it lengthen my lashes, but it helps plump them up to make them fuller. I got it as part of Sephora's lash stash kit, and it was the last one I tried. If it would have been the first, I probably wouldn't have gone any  further and gave the others away. I seriously look like I have falsies on. Luxurious, thick, long, full lashes and it's all me! No flaking, no clumping, and it's easily removed with regular face wash. Retails for $23 and worth every penny!

Redken

Somewhere I must have signed up for this free trial kit, but for the life of me I do not remember when. It was a nice surprise when I opened the mail and saw this. It contains All Soft shampoo & conditioners,  Satin Wear, Outshine & Control Addict in trial/travel sizes.
All Soft is one of my favorite shampoos/conditioners. It contains argan oil to help transform dry, brittle hair into soft, smooth strands. Retails for $15.95 for normal sizes. You can always find deals on liters, especially at Ulta. You will want liters. It's that amazing!
Satin Wear is a must have for blow drying. I use this on EVERY single  client that sits in my chair before I even think of picking up my blow dryer. It's your basic thermal protecting lotion. It's light weight, able to be layered with other products, and helps aid in a friction free fast blow dry. Retails for $17.95.
Outshine I have a love hate relationship with. If you're not familiar with Redken's number system 01 means that it's 1 time stronger than water. Outshine is a polishing milk. It gives the shine it boasts about, but I don't think it does more than that and there are other products that are better than this for that. Some people like it for fly aways, but I think it's still just too light for that. It claims it controls frizz, but again, no. If you have it, use it, but I wouldn't buy this particular product. Redken has better options than this. Shine Flash spray for one. Retails for $18.95.
Control Addict. This is the HIGHEST level of hold that Redken carries at a 28. What I love about their hairsprays are they give that superior hold factor, but you can still maintain brushability without residue and flaking. Plus their hairsprays are all humidity resistant. I've used this for the everyday hold, to upstyles for weddings. My all time FAVORITE hairspray by Redken. Retails for $18.95.

So thanks again Redken for the kit to help recreate the perfect blow out! Since I blow dry this naturally curly mop on a daily basis and love your products this is much appreciated!

Dyson Animal

Well you know you're an adult when you get excited over spending a portion of your tax refund on something like this ( the other part went to pay off the remaining credit card balance on our washer/dryer/stove ). Yeah for the year of appliances I suppose.  We picked up this lil gem on clearance at Target for under $500! They normally retail for about $650/700. I had a Dyson awhile back and it died on my just a little over the 5 year warranty time frame. I got pissy, vowed to never buy their overpriced pos customer service vacuums again ( yeah I may have over reacted ). Well in the 5 years since owning that we've gone through at least 3 cheaper vacuums. So not worth it! Any brand.. Hoover, Bissell, Eureka. Didn't matter. Got their top of the line, made for pets and something would always break. They don't have any type of warranty, and parts/labor aren't even worth it ( other than maybe a belt or brush ). So back to Dyson it is. At least while I was using that, I had no issue, and it lasted way longer than a couple months to a year. We are definitely registering this, and fingers crossed we have no issues cause that would suck, and obviously not in the good way!
